Temperature plummeting in Teddington

With the temperatures plummeting last night in Teddington, most of us were watching the Christmas Lights Up wrapped up in coats, hats, scarves and gloves, quickly diving in and out of the shops, bars and restaurants for hot drinks and hot food! How did you enjoy the evening and who had the best mince pies?

It was very cold during the day too in Bushy Park, although, the Diana Fountain was bathed in sunshine.
Thanks go to the Teddington Society and the Teddington Business Community and sponsors for a fantastic and very busy evening! The streets were heaving with local residents and visitors.
The Causeway was closed for children’s rides by Park Lane Stables, Church Road was also closed and the shops very busy. Broad Street and the High Street were full of people and the traffic was solid at one stage when a bus broke down on the bridge and the police had to re-direct traffic through Broad Street, High Street and Park Road.
Three new shops opened in the High Street last night – a new Italian deli next to Spa Nails, a new fashion shop next to Teds and a new food shop next to China Garden. The new independent vets practice also had their doors open - opposite Fielding Gould - and were chatting away to Teddington passers-by about animals and living and working in Teddington.
It was bitterly cold again this morning throughout Teddington and at the station where locals @radiantlady and @tsoceallaigh were tweeting about the cold.
Tomorrow it looks like we could be at -5 degrees! And it doesn’t seem five minutes since the February snow!
It looks like we may have an early snow fall. After last year’s grit shortage, Richmond Council has assured us that there’s plenty of grit in stock at nearby Twickenham and they will be proactive with monitoring road temperatures and safety. They commented "the information regarding gritting will be on our website within the next 2 weeks, it will outline what the council’s responsibility is and also should be publishing a list of when road within the borough will be gritted. We will no longer grit roads upon request and instead will be sticking to a set schedule for road gritting."
Maybe it will be a White Christmas for Teddington!
