Is your car ready for the winter weather?

With the cold weather here, and possibly getting worse, is your car ready to get you safely where you need to be through the winter?

It’s taking a while to defrost windscreens and car windows and last week we started to see cars being wrapped up overnight in Teddington and we've been lucky to have escaped the snow as yet!

We've seen people stocking up on petrol, de-icer, screen wash and checking tyre pressure at the Shell garage.   It’s a good idea to keep your car filled up with petrol over the winter and to be prepared when you are travelling some distance either on your own or with friends and family in the car.  

Take along an emergency car kit, a torch for the car and also some warm clothing, water and a pack of biscuits with you in case of emergency.  Always travel at a safe speed so you can get out of any potential trouble quickly and safely.

With Christmas shoppers out and about, do allow more time than usual to get your petrol as the Shell garage on Kingston Road is the only petrol station in Teddington and it can get very busy.
