• Electricity cable work at Lower Teddington Road likely to last 5 months

  It has been announced that new electricity cables need to be installed under the river by UK Power Networks.  The work will start next month in May. There will be some 300 metres of new cables being installed - from the Lower Teddington Road right through to Canbury Gardens in Kingston.  The cables will be placed within the pipeline underneath the Thames using a technique called directional drilling.   Reports of incidents of tree felling that have been going on at Teddington station by Network Rail have come to light.  It seems that no-one in Teddington was aware that the tree felling was going to happen, and now the situation is creating a debate throughout the town.   With the cold weather here, and possibly getting worse, is your car ready to get you safely where you need to be through the winter? It's taking a while to defrost windscreens and car windows and last week we started to see cars being wrapped up overnight in Teddington and we've been lucky to have escaped the snow as yet! We've seen people stocking up on petrol, de-icer, screen wash and checking tyre pressure at the Shell garage....

• Teddington Lock Bridge closure - changed to Thursday, 28th and Friday 29th

  The dates for the Teddington Lock Bridge closure have been changed. The bridge will no longer be closed at the weekend - but will be closed tomorrow Thursday, 28th October and Friday, 29th October. If you are travelling to and from Ham and Kingston, the buses are 285 and 281 to and from Kingston and the 65 bus goes from Kingston - Ham - Kingston.
