Teddington’s Bushy Park 5k Run

Every Saturday morning at 0900 Bushy Park plays host to its very own 5k run. Even though I live in Teddington I didn’t know about the run until my brother was running in it – and he lives in Bermondsey!
Then I saw it for myself but only from the touchline as I am more of a jogger than a runner. I was amazed. The 5k is hugely popular with runners travelling from near and far for the run in all weathers. The race is very well organised and timed. It is run solely by volunteers and it is FREE to run too.
There’s a great sense of camaraderie about the race too. My brother then told me about the first class website which is crammed full of detailed information about the course, travel and the runners - visit Park Run.
Do take a look – it is excellent and features newsletters and race reports. There are also blog postings and photographs available on the web also.
After the race runners can meet up for a chat and refreshments at The Pheasantry Cafe in Bushy Park.
If you are thinking about running in the race you do need to register on the website http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bushy/Home.aspx.
Good luck with your times and see you there...

ReportThe only thing with Park Runs is that you need to register at least on the Friday before you run the race. Lots of the people who run regular are members of Kingston running clubs.
Oh and Bushy Park is great it's flat for running and there are lots of sports facilities like a hockey, rugby and cricket pitches in it.
