There’s always sports news to cover in Teddington so here’s an update for you to end the week –
-
Triathlon start
Running
Steve Slattery
A video has been compiled with Steve Slattery talking about the Teddington Special dinner! I think I will be avoiding the dinner itself but this is fun to watch!
Mo Farah
Mo has beaten David Moorcroft’s 5000m British Record. Check here for some great lap statistics.
Running and Tennis
Deborah Chudy and Bernard Chudy
Teddington Park couple signed up for the amazing British Transplant Games held in Bath last weekend to compete in the 100m and the Tennis competition. This is no mean feat for the couple after Deborah received a kidney from her husband last year.
Triathlon
Four employees, three of whom are Teddington RNLI volunteers, from Teddington based architects MAA have taken part in a triathlon to support our RNLI.
Table Tennis
Teddington’s Table Tennis Club has moved to Twickenham after the fire at St Mark’s Church Hall last year and has come runner up in the Division One League!
Cycling
Henry Dawson, Teddington school pupil aged 13, pulled off an amazing win at the European Youth Cycling Tour held in The Netherlands despite terrible rain. Some great support from nearby Kingston Wheelers here.
You may have spotted these guys cycling through Teddington in their distinctive body suits. Read more about the challenge to support male cancer awareness.
Swimming
Swim for Heroes has taken place successfully with eight volunteers swimming in a relay from the non-tidal section of the river in the Cotswolds to Teddington Lock. Read more about the challenge.
Cricket
Teddington reached the semis but although we lost against Ealing, there’s still a lot to play for at Teddington Cricket Club and some silverware to be won – check for details.
If you know of any other Teddington achievements, let us know!
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend!
