Welcome to Tora Kodo Karate Kai in Twickenham
Our club, credited to be one of the first karate schools in the country, is steeped in history and our instructors have trained with some of the most eminent names in karate.
We were founded in 1966 by Sensei Michael Beech, well renowned in karate circles, with the aim of teaching traditional Shotokan Karate classes to people of all ages and abilities.
Although we emphasise the importance of karate as a martial art and means of self-defence, we’ve also created a fun, relaxed and friendly environment where everyone can join in whether they are experienced or a complete beginner.
We hold our training sessions at St. Mary’s University College in Twickenham on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and all our instructors are fully trained, insured and have enhanced CRB checks in place.
In addition, to physical fitness, the benefits of practising martial arts include increased self-discipline, improved focus and rising levels of confidence.
