Perfect setting.

During the Easter bank Holiday weekend I visited The Anglers with two friends for a riverside drink and a girly catch up. The weather was glorious and perfect for sitting in the beautiful river view garden. We all enjoyed a few glasses of the chilled wine and later shared a meze plate of dips, pitta bread, chicken skewers and a portion of chips. A lovely time had by all.

Hook, Line and Sinker

The Anglers is in a great spot backing on to the river with a massive garden and a decent decor that lends itself to a comfortable ambience. The food is good, with lrage portions at a reasonable price and the service is always swift which is impressive for an operation of this size. On nice days the garden boasts a great child friendly zone with ice creams, a food ordering point and sometimes even a pig roast.

The Anglers

After what must be the 4th referbishment in as many years The Anglers has changed again.
The Garden is still lovely on a sunny day, but the interior not so much.
On some nights they now have a strict 'over 21' policy, perhaps to clear out some of the 'troublemaking' younger patrons.
The food ok, nothing special but not bad.
They are chronically understaffed, but that is hardly the fault of the existing staff.
So overall nothing special, but certainly not bad.
