Sewing in Teddington
Sewing is a worthwhile skill to learn. We have plenty of shops in Teddington to buy clothes from but often we want to make clothes or alter a favourite item for ourselves.
Anyone can do it, it's not complicated. You can either learn from scratch or top up your sewing knowledge.
It is amazing how time flies when you are immersed in stitching and whizzing along on the sewing machine creating beautiful clothes and other crafts for yourself and loved ones.
The satisfaction of "I've made it myself" is such a good feeling.
So too is, "can you make me one?" I have been sewing for over fifteen years making special garments for adults and fancy dress costumes for children. And I still love sewing.
If you get a chance to learn it really is a skill for life. One-to-one or small group lessons are the best way to learn as you have plenty of attention and guidance to perfect those all-important basic skills such as seams, hems and pressing techniques.
The best garment to start with for a sewing beginner is a skirt or pyjama-type trouser.
You have such fun learning and making clothes - it's ever sew easy!! And you can help the environment too by altering your wardrobe.
