Had an unplanned evening out last night and opted for a curry in Teddington with a friend.  Wanted to go to Prem as heard such good things about it but couldn’t get in – it was packed and had a waiting list.  So as my friend and I were on foot – we thought we would walk down the town to the Bilas Tandoori...but hunger overtook us to we stopped at Bombay Space on the roundabout by the Kou Kou bar.  Why is this closed?  For refurb?  Anyway – back to the curry.  Bombay Spice is a small place – it seems like sitting in a plane’s cabin somehow.  Anyway it’s got four tables so it’s very cosy!!!   We ordered quickly and had a thali and some chicken tikka.  The thali didn’t come in the usual silver bowls on the tray which was a shame.  But the food was good – and lots of it – especially good was the rogan, the veg curry and the peshwari nan bread.   And the service was very polite too.  The downside was the tv on the wall – bit distracting if you eat in – and it seemed to be Casualty on !!!  They have more tables downstairs – and if you want to go to the loo it’s really small!!!  They offered us a complimentary drink as the end which was a nice touch.  Their credit card machines weren’t working so it took a while to leave, but then they fixed them.   Nice food, plenty of it – and yes, we will go back.
