I popped out for a late lunch in the Tide End Cottage recently.

Even though it was nearly 2pm it was packed full of people – I guess from neighbouring Teddington Studios and Haymarket possible.

The sign outside says Dunkerque 1940 which always reminds me of Teddington’s history and part that it played with developing the bouncing bomb etc.  Whatever happened to the D-Day celebrations at the river that were run a few years ago?

After ordering at the bar we realised we had ordered very 1980s.  My client had ordered prawn cocktail and I had a jacket potato with chilli!

It’s always a bit worrying when you are out with clients, and especially this one who is a real foodie with a discerning palate!

I haven’t been in the pub for a couple of years and forgotten about the very warm welcome you get inside.

We were starving by this point and dived on the food when it came.  The chap sitting next to us said our food looked very nice and we could just about smile and agree with him.  I thought he might eat his peak cap!

Then, unusually, the waitress came over – with another plate of prawns – a lovely touch I thought.

The quiz evenings are still in the pub also.

I would put a website link on – but I couldn’t find one...
