I had been meaning to join the Teddington Society and even though I had picked up a form from the Library it had been sitting on the table for too long.  So one morning I decided to take it to one of the coffee mornings and meet a few people too!  I also signed up for a Teddington friend who had been planning to join for a long time.

The Teddington Society are real champions for Teddington.

They liaise with the local MP, councillors, media, local businesses and local people to support the town, the people and the facilities.

The Teddington Society is a registered charity.

The Society’s volunteers are keen spokespeople covering the history of the area, planning issues, the environment, roads, transport, Teddington’s part of the river and our open parks and spaces too.

Recent Teddington Society activity has included objecting to the fence at the station and commenting on the proposed Somerset Road and Travelodge developments.  This year’s Teddington in Flower collected nearly £2000 which will be allocated to schools, the Royal British Legion and possibly new planting and the planned otters hold on the river.

They also run events such as the Christmas Lights Up and member events such as coffee mornings and day trips out and about.

Membership prices are £5 for an individual, £7 for a family, £3 for a senior, £4 for joint senior and business/corporate membership is £25.

As part of your membership you receive The Teddington Society Newsletter, called Tidings, which is published regularly and printed by 130 Litho.  Newsletter Number 150 for Autumn 2010 is now available.

To support Teddington’s past, present and future you can join by completing the form available.

Do let us know if you have joined or are a new member!
