Today’s the day for the GCSE results.

The results for Teddington were made available for students at Teddington School in Broom Road this morning only and there was a steady flow of students walking to the school.

It was an opportunity for me to walk down the side of the old school, which is in the process of being demolished, towards the new school with some of the students.   They came out with their results in the familiar large brown envelopes and many were straight on their mobiles to their parents with the news.

The building contractors and the staff were on hand to make sure the morning went safely and smoothly.  The two members of staff I spoke to said the results were “very good.”   The full analysis of the results will be available in September.

How was your experience with the school?   If you have comments to make, you can write a review on the school here.

Many students will be off to Richmond College in Twickenham, where they may meet lecturer Jason Arday, 25.  Last Sunday Jason completed  his challenge of running 30 marathons in 35 days.  You can see Jason’s interview here and more detailed information on his blog.   Jason has been supporting local Shooting Star Hospice and Shelter.

If you are a parent with younger children travelling to and from schools in Teddington the research group Road Safety Analysis has just published a road safety report.   Richmond Borough has come second in the list of the lowest areas where resident children experience the lowest road casualty risk.

If you are looking for places to celebrate this evening with your family, pizza seems to be a popular choice so you could be eating out at Pizza Express or Scarpetta.  Alternatively, the popular China Garden take-away re-opens tonight after refurbishment!

See the directory for reviews and do add your own too!
