This week I took a look inside the Sports Centre at Teddington School.  You can access the Sports Centre by driving down Trowlock Way and there’s plenty of parking available.

When you’re through the door, there’s a reception area where you can pick up plenty of information and leaflets about what’s going on at the Centre.  You can take a peak at the exercise studios too – there was a Jive dance class being held when I went in and everyone seemed to be well co-ordinated and having fun!

If you haven’t been along before and still waiting to start your New Year’s resolution for exercise, here’s a run-through (no pun intended!) of what’s on.

Fitness Classes such as Boxercise, Yoga, Body Circuits and Zumba are held in the mornings and the evenings on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  On Sunday mornings, for children there’s Judo Tots where children under 5 can start to learn Judo techniques.

If you’re a basketball lover, then Girl’s and Boys Basketball (11-15 years) and Wheelchair Basketball (10-18 years) is on during the early evenings.

With half-term rapidly approaching there’s a choice of ‘crash courses’ and activities at Teddington Pool with fun sounding sessions called Winkles & Shrimps for toddlers and babies, Splashdown swimming lessons from 3-5 years, Diving Workshop for children over 8 years old who can swim and Funtime Floats, again for children over 8 years.

The new all weather pitch is where the Football sessions are held on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons.  There’s also Squash every afternoon of the week and the weekend and Tennis will start from April.  Netball will be available twice a week.

There's a full programme is available at the Centre, so there's no excuse!
