It seems that no-one in Teddington was aware that the tree felling was going to happen, and now the situation is creating a debate throughout the town.
Vigilant Teddington commuters sent through a photograph immediately. Our thanks go to @pieceorutt who sent through the initial photograph to Tweet Teddington. Here’s Dan’s photograph from the station.

Teddington People contacted the Teddington Society who confirmed they had noticed the tree removal and “that there had been some discussions about a hedge being put in to replace the trees”.
The Teddington Society confirmed that “we have offered to provide bulbs and/or bedding plants but Network Rail have not responded to this offer”.
Councillor Martin Ellengorn has also been approached and he too knew nothing about the situation, but has promised to pursue it.
Teddington People have notified Richmond Environment about the situation too.
Although the land belongs to Network Rail, it seems a simple solution to accept the new bulbs or a new hedge to be planted and let’s hope that an answer is received from Network Rail soon.
Please see further photographs attached to this article.
Have you seen the felling, what do you think and have you contacted Network Rail looking for some answers?
