You may have seen The Globe Players performing in Teddington’s schools over the years.  They are a theatre company who take theatre into schools - and are based close to us in Hampton Hill.

The actors travel to schools all over London and Greater London.  They play to all ages and performances include fairy stories for infants  to  entertaining educational shows for primary school children.  They are perform Shakespeare ‘shorts’ which are used as learning aides for secondary school children who are just finding out about Shakespeare for the first time - or are studying for exams.   I remember mine was Twelfth Night!

After 40 years, Globe Players have had to become a charity for financial reasons and are now looking for funds to keep the charity up and running and keep performing in local schools.

This is how they are doing it.

On Saturday, 31st of July a group of actors will be performing Shakespeare to the public, attempting to play out a scene at the end of every Shakespeare Road, Avenue, Crescent in the Greater London area!

So if you don’t see them around Teddington – you may see them elsewhere and recognise them.  So look out for actors and photographers out and about in London on Saturday, July 31st!  And do take your own photographs for Teddington People too!

If you would like to book The Globe Players for your Teddington School, all contact details appear on the Teddington Baptist Church website and you can donate to the Globe Players on their Just Giving page
