News has been announced that Richmond Borough Council will lose £1m off their budget.  This means Richmond has to tackle the third highest borough budget cut across the UK.

This is part of the Chancellor’s budget cuts.

Difficult decisions now have to be made, with the new leaders of Richmond Council and residents concerned about exactly how these savings are going to be made.

The council will meet on Tuesday, 6th July to see how they are going to manage the borough in the next few years.

They plan to discuss with the Chancellor too on how our London Borough will manage on under 50% per head allocation compared to what the other London boroughs receive in funds.
