The Wild Goose Qigong skill was passed down from Daoist monks in the Kunlun Mountains of China over 1800 years ago. Originally the system had over 72 forms, meditations and healing skills. Today, just over half of these survive which is more than enough to last a lifetime of learning.
Qi means energy and Gong means work, so when we do Qigong we work for our life energy. In the classes, we first work on posture and relaxation which will help realign the body so that Qi can flow freely through the channels. Then we work for specific internal organs, joints and acupuncture points through different exercises.
Qigong can help heal many kinds of illnesses and disease. Many have found it particularly useful for helping:-
Back problems
Stress
Cancer
Tiredness
Depression
Asthma
Classes also include learning various meditation methods which is vital for storing the Qi gathered during the Qigong movements.
