Sorrento re-opened its restaurant doors on Thursday this week with a cracking offer of 50% off the bill for the first few days and the locals loved it. The restaurant retains all of its charm as before (even the hideous art work remains on the walls) . I recognised some of the staff who were as friendly as they'd always been. My guest and I took advantage of the 3 course set meal at £11.95 pp which offered a good selection of starters mains and deserts. I had stuffed aubergine, calves liver and finished with fresh figs and raspberries. We had 2 glasses of house wine each which wasn't brilliant but passable. The bill..... £20! You can't complain about that. Even without the generous opening offer it 's a good set menu. The down side was the service. I guess they didn't expect to be so busy as we had to wait a long time to be served each course. However, I shall be returning.
