Clockhouse Runs like Clockwork

Enjoyed a very pleasant mystery dining experience at The Clockhouse , 67 High Street last night. Warm, friendly atmosphere, where you can really relax and charming staff and what seemed to be very happy customers. We ate in the bar area but there is also a nice little snug tucked away with a few tables and a more formal "restaurant" area at the back - but a looked a little souless to me with only 1 couple eating on their own. I really liked the open fireplace with surround seating. I could just imagine being tucked up there next to a roaring fire with a nice hot chocolate on a freezing afternoon!

Food was lovely, I had the smoked mackerel fishcakes with dill sauce, a very nicely dressed side salad and a side of fries.. it was delicious, food was hot and very generous portions. My mystery dining partner had the burger, which I must say looked fab, it looked home made and good quality. Shame we didnt have room for pud as Im sure they would have been just as good as the mains.

Will certainly be coming back to the Clockhouse, thumbs up from diningdivas...
