Today saw Day 1 of the temporary traffic lights on the Upper Teddington Road causing some delays going to and from Kingston.

Upper Teddington Road, Teddington
As previously reported, repairs to the railway bridge will take 15 weeks and please remember that there will be 5 full weekend road closures which will cause delays travelling to and from Kingston and Hampton Court. What’s the answer to this? Stay in Teddington!
Parking in Marks and Spencer on the High Street
Marks and Spencer on the High Street are still taking payments all day and all night in their car park – the meter actually says “overpayment accepted.” What do you think of that?!
Free 30 minute parking coming to Richmond Borough
Some good news is that Richmond Council has announced that drivers will be permitted to park for 30 minutes across the Borough at council car parks and in parking bays that have meters – for free.
You need to be resident in the borough and you will need a ‘Richmond Card’ to do this - or you will need to register with the mobile phone pay-as-you-park system.
This new parking scheme will come in later in the year and should support local Teddington shops to pick up more local business from shoppers who previously didn’t stop because they needed to pay.
Spy Cars
Meanwhile, I am sure you will have seen the spy cars that take photographs if you happen to be illegally parked. The revenue figures from the spy cars is estimated to be more than £500,000 – although – do you see them parked where they shouldn’t be?!
