October 2013 half term break activity ideas near Teddington
Half term activity ideas near Teddington. Osterley Park & House is holding a series of October half term break events including a pumpkin festival.
Halloween once again falls in the October half term break this year so if you're looking for 'spooky' activities for the children near Teddington, Osterley Park & House is holding a pumpkin festival on Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 October.
The Halloween-themed festival, from 12pm-4pm, will include apple bobbing, marshmallow toasting, pumpkin carving, pinning the tail on the black cat as well as a spooky trail and autumn leaves kick-abouts for the more adventurous. The really brave can try their hand at "splat the bat" and "beastly boxes". And there'll be a treat for anyone who wears fancy dress.
For the rest of the Autumn half term, the house will be holding family fun trails between 26 October and 3 November giving children the chance to explore the house and gardens.
And, on 30 October between 12-4pm, as part of Osterley's "50 things to do before you're 11 3/4" activities, children can take part in conker championships. Osterley is full of conkers at this time of year so you can challenge all the family to a game.
