Richmond artists will once again be opening their homes and studios so the public can enjoy private exhibitions of their work within their own unique environments as part of this year’s ARThouse Open Studios Festival.
Over two summer weekends more than 500 artists will open their doors from Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29 and Friday July 4 to Sunday July 6.
ARThouse once again features a diverse range of artists, artist groups and venues. The festival showcases artwork ranging from printmaking to portraiture; wood sculpture to mosaics; nail art to bag making; ceramics; jewellery; stained-glass windows and photography. Settings as diverse as boathouses, churches, gardens, and listed buildings will serve as the backdrop for one of the biggest local cultural events of the year.
The festival is a perfect chance for everyone to enjoy experiencing Richmond upon Thames in the summer, exploring new neighbourhoods and creative communities. All ARThouse venues are free and if visitors check in at five or more locations they will be eligible to enter a prize draw to win £100 to spend with an ARThouse artist of their choice. Second prize is a £50 voucher for local art store Pullingers.
The festival will also be accompanied by a ‘pop up’ exhibition featuring work from most of the artists taking part, in an empty shop premises in Twickenham which will be open mid June – mid July.
