Tesco Metro Teddington will be closing for one week starting next Sunday.

The supermarket will close from 4pm on Sunday, 24th July and will re-open at 8am on Monday, 1st August.  The store is being closed for improvements to the interior of the shop, which will include a new layout for products.

It is hoped that the new layout will be easier for customers to get around in the shop and that the refurbishment will ensure that the refrigeration units will work properly.  The interior improvements will also include -

  • New hot chicken counter
  • New hot pie cabinet
  • New bakery section
  • New self-service checkouts
  • Improved beers, wines and spirits section
  • Improved fruit and vegetable section
Planning permission has also been submitted to Richmond Council last month to work on the exterior of the building.

Some Teddington shoppers have said they will be shopping at Tesco in Isleworth or Sainsburys in Hampton instead.  Others will top up their shopping at Marks and Spencer or book an online delivery for the week.

Teddington shoppers will be watching the improvements with interest as it's been a long time since the supermarket has been improved.  You can make any comments instore to Harvey and his team or online at Tesco Comments
