A Teenager from Teddington has met the Duchess of Cornwall at the University College London Hospital.

13-year-old Miles Compton shared his story with Camilla about living with type 1 diabetes.

The trip was organised by JDRF, a charity to help those with diabetes, with whom Camilla is the charity's president.

Miles showed The Duchess of Cornwall the insulin pump that he uses to manage his condition.

After being diagnosed at the age of 10, he relied at first on multiple daily insulin injections to control his blood glucose levels.

Since 2010, he's now been under the care of UCLH.

Miles says: "Having injections every day can be difficult, especially for a child."

"I was delighted to meet the Duchess of Cornwall, she really is committed to JDRF and to people and their families who are affected by type 1 diabetes."

She was joined by Hollywood Star Jeremy Irvine, who also has type 1 diabetes.
