The results of Richmond Council’s Roads and Pavements Fund nominations were announced today with Munster Road, Princes Road, Railway Road, Coleshill Road, Park Lane and Claremont Road among those chosen for repairs.
The scheme, which allowed local residents to nominate roads they thought should be fixed, attracted more than 1,800 suggestions. In total, £740k will be spent repairing roads across the 14 villages in Richmond Borough.
Another 22 roads nominated by residents will also be improved from a pot of money made available from the Council’s Highway Maintenance Programme.
Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Cllr Chris Harrison, said:
“I am delighted to announce the roads and pavements to be repaired this year through the Council’s innovative Roads and Pavements programme – which is bigger and better than ever. It’s a delight to see so many residents respond to the Council’s consultation, it shows how involved residents want to be within their villages."
Submissions were evaluated by the Council’s Highways Team from January to March. Work on roads will be completed by April next year.
