Teddington Cricket Club returned from Enfield as Middlesex Cup winners this week after playing Hornsey in a game interrupted by rain. The final score was Teddington 305-5 off 45 overs; Hornsey 134-9 off 28 overs.

Teddington's 19 year old man of the match Nick Gubbins scored 122 and club captain Joe Austin 94, as they put on a partnership of 178 runs in 22 overs to post a formidable total of 305-5.
Two rain interruptions reduced the Hornsey asking total to 190 in 28 overs, but with the scoreboard already showing 79-4 off 20, it was a big ask.
When Teddington's cup captain, Nick Ellsmore bowled his opposing captain, Mike Philipson, for 45 with the first ball after the break, the tie was effectively over. Ellsmore went onto complete his 9 overs with figures of 4-34 in his last match for the club before returning to Melbourne.
The win is Teddington's first piece of silverware in 12 years - in the competition that was the club's first ever piece of silverware, back in 1983.
