The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) announced a new initiative to promote local businesses this week.
A prize draw, to be launched on Saturday, gives local residents the chance to win £500 if they buy goods or services from a local, independent small business. The initiative will run between 30 November and Saturday 7 December.
Those wanting to take part can find full details on the FSB website.
Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Business, Cllr Gareth Evans , said:
“Small businesses hold the key to the financial future of this borough and we will always do everything in our power to ensure businesses continue to go from strength-to-strength. If you are a customer tell us how much you spend during the challenge week and you will not have the chance of winning a prize draw just in time for Christmas – you will also be supporting the local economy.”
Retailers and businesses can also register to enter the prize draw and be in with the chance of winning free membership to the Federation of Small Businesses for a year. To register your details online visit www.fsb.org.uk/london/keep-trade-local-challenge
Leading up to Christmas, Richmond Council is also launching a new local business offers scheme. Businesses wanting to take part should see www.richmond.gov.u/businessoffers
