Scarpetta restaurant in Teddington's High Street has closed unexpectedly causing a few shock waves throughout the town.

Local people have been bewildered by the closure of the popular pizza and Italian restaurant which has come totally out of the blue.  The restaurant has closed due to non payment of rent and has been repossessed..

This has been the third shop closure in the High Street.  Another very familiar face on the High Street for many years, Selwyn Smith Studio, has clo¬sed down due to strong competition.  Both Scarpetta and Selwyn Smith were independent shops.

130 Litho, the printing shop, has also closed down.
