Serves you right for NOT stretching!

Well, it's here! Wimbledon is finally upon us and whether you're a

tennis fan or not it always encourages a visit to the tennis court
yourself and trust me, there is no other feeling like hitting a ball
back and forth across a tennis court!
However, what comes with renewed enthusiasm for the great sport that is
tennis may also come a variety of strains and sprains! I already treat a
number of tennis players who, after initially coming to me when
injured, still have regular treatment to keep themselves injury free!
Tennis requires a lot of stamina; a surprising amount of leg strength
(quads mainly) as well as the expected shoulder, arm and back strength.
We are all familiar with the injury "tennis elbow", however, it is not
uncommon to suffer from an aching upper back and neck!
We've all tried to serve like Rafael Nadal but be aware (and of course I
speak from experience!) the next day may be slightly painful as you
discover lats, rhomboids and deltoids you didn't even know you had! And
if you still don't know what muscles they are but simply know that you
'hurt' that's when a deep tissue/sports massage can come in handy!
So, for all you wanna be Federers, Murrays and Sharapovas (?!) remember a
short warm up is always advisable, a stretch after you finish playing
is preferable and a massage to help put you totally back together is
incredible! Give me a shout to book!
