Crime fiction fans will have the chance to meet one of Britain’s best-selling authors today, as Peter James visits Richmond Waterstones to sign copies of his world famous novels.
The novelist – who has sold over 15 million books of his Roy Grace series – will be in the area to speak to invited guests at Richmond Theatre about the upcoming stage production of his novel, The Perfect Murder, before heading on to the local bookshop to meet fans of his writing.
The play, which opened in January 2014, has already taken over £1million at the box office and is being acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for its entertaining dark comedy and thrilling storyline, featuring James’ much-loved character Detective Roy Grace as he investigates his very first case.
Peter James commented on the first stage adaptation of his work: "Ever since I was a small boy when my parents first took me to the theatre , I dreamed of one day having something I wrote appear on the stage, and this wonderful, extremely funny and in parts very scary adaptation on The Perfect Murder is truly a dream come true. And I do not think we could have a more perfect, murderously wonderful cast!”
The stage adaptation stars Les Dennis (Chicago, Spamalot, BBC 2’s Life’s Too Short), Claire Goose (Waking the Dead, Casualty), Gray O’Brien (Coronation Street, Peak Practice), Steven Miller (Casualty) and Simona Armstrong (finalist in the BBC’s search for a ‘Maria’). The touring production reaches Richmond Theatre on Tuesday 22 April and runs for one week only until Saturday 26 April.
Peter James will be signing copies of his books from 12.30pm until 1pm on Tuesday 18 March in Richmond Waterstones.
