After the walk round South Teddington to the award winning School House Lane Orchard earlier in the week, and taking some photographs it seemed a good idea to stop off for a drink and take a look inside the refurbished Lion Pub in Wick Road.

The Lion in Wick Road Teddington
The exterior has undergone some changes and the new signs are up too. The interior is very different to the old pub! The old patterned carpet has gone and the pub is now bathed in subtle traditional colours. It has a refurbished bar and there are butchers blocks for tables and stools where you can make yourself comfortable at the front of the pub. The fireplaces are still there and - dare we say it – the pub will be very cosy in the winter months ahead!
Towards the back of the pub you can walk into the restaurant La Cloche where you can have a private lunch or dinner - and look out into the private garden which has been very popular with Teddington families in the summer sunshine.
There's a good selection of wine and beers to be sampled and the new menus – for lunch and for dinner look exciting too.
The Lion will be showing the International Rugby games and there are two screens for watching the games on. The manager, Julien, is looking forward to the rugby games – although be warned – he will supporting France!
In addition to the Rugby, every Wednesday evening at 8pm, starting next week on Wednesday, 7th September, The Lion will be hosting a Pub Quiz for the Teddington intellectuals!
We may be going back very soon!
