People who've incurred a fine for not returning goods to their local library in Richmond are being given a saving grace.
The council have decided to wipe the slate clean if you return overdue items between the 11th and 18th March.
They're also offering free loans of up to three items in the same period.
The move is to celebrate the introduction of a new computer system across all libraries.
Cllr Pamela Fleming, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Communities, Business and Culture, said: "In these tough economic times, I am thrilled that unlike other boroughs that are cutting their library services, we are able to make huge improvements."
"Joining up with the other 11 library services is fantastic for all library goers across the borough. It means that you now can pick up a book at any of 200 libraries across the South East. "
