The queues were almost from the school to the school gates last night as Teddington people came out to enjoy the fireworks evening at Collis Primary School in Fairfax Road.

Fortunately, it didn't rain and it wasn't a cold evening, so we could all be outside enjoying the fun!
Despite the queues, the evening was well organised and everyone got into the playground at around 5pm, whether you had a ticket or not. The playground was packed with families and the children were waving their light sabres around. Small children in pushchairs had mini toys that lit up too.
The barbeque and refreshments stalls were doing a roaring trade before the fireworks started. In particular the creperie stall was doing very well – the owner and her two staff made about 600 crepes throughout the evening! The fillings were tempting - chocolate, caramel, strawberry, coconut, pear or the more traditional sugar and cinnamon fillings. And yes, we had to try one!
There were two carousels in the playground – one with giant teacups and the other with cars and buses which were doing a busy trade. There was also a Ring the Bell stall too where children and their dads were enjoying themselves.
At 630pm the fireworks display started on the playing field. It was fantastic display of different colours lighting up the sky – greens, blues, reds and whites. There was music playing and a lot of clapping and cheering by all.
If you haven't been before, then do go next year, it's well worth it!
